It may only be the remains of an old microwave but the long lenth of copper wire hanging off the tower is something else! Reports of "your the biggest signal out of Europe" just go to prove that David Kennedy came up with a winner.

FARS COMMUNICATIONS VAN 19 Sep 07

Thanks to one very generous gentleman, FARS are now the proud owner of a fantastic purpose built communications van. Built originally for the DTI, FARS are planning on putting it to good use next year after we put some spit and polish into it and put our own mark on it.

Humberside and Wolds RCC 4 Aug 07

Club given a grant of approx Ł6,000 from Humberside and Wolds RCC to help train younger members of the community. First course starts Monday 6th Aug in Scunthorpe.

2007 Exam Season 17 Mar 07

The exam seasons kicked off with success for three in the M3 Foundation licence and five 'old sweats' now moving on with a new call thanks to success in the 2E0 Intermediate licence.

Honorary Membership 14 Mar 07

The membership voted unanimously to award Vic Lowe G1IND Honorary Membership of the Society for all of his past sterling commitment towards the club.

Classroom and Museum 3 Mar 07

Lots of people working away in the background but this project is moving along very nicely now. Kevin is on with the electrics and Eric, Cedric, John and Sean have been very busy with finishing off Harolds good work.

Memorial Maintenance 30 Sep 06

Cedric has been very busy with a project to rework and maintain the Memorial. Work will be completed prior to the Remembrance Sunday Ceremony.

Ceiling Alterations 23 Sep 06

Thanks to some sterling work from Harold, Phil, Eric and Roy the ceiling in the large room is well on the way to completion. This room has now been totally transformed.

Inaugural Talk well received 8 Jul 06

The inaugural talk given in our new room by Dr. Mike Diprose on the subject of World War II 'GEE' was very well received by member of Finningley, Lincoln and Scunthorpe clubs. It is hoped that we can hold more of this type of event soon. Photo here

Start made on Large Room Wall Insulation 27 May 06 - Updated 8 Jul 06

Harold, Brian and Kyle made a start today on insulating the walls in the end room. This will take some time to complete and all help will be appreciated. Thanks to Bev for the drinks.

Phil, Harold and Eric have made great inroads into the room. So much so that it was ready for the guest speaker today. Club looking into being able to lower the ceiling and put some carpet tiles on the floor.

Work started on the large Mobile Tower 16 Apr 06 - Updated 29 Apr 06

David Kennedy has been the driving force to-date in getting work underway to refurbish the large mobile tower. The tower is now in three sections which was no mean feat and thanks to the many who helped.

The bad dent has been removed and work has now started on preparing the rest of the metalwork.

SAVE OUR CLUB Appeal launched 26 Feb 2006 - Updated 11 Mar 2006

Unfortunately it is necessary to launch an appeal for funds from members of the club; those that we have helped in the past and anyone who wishes to ensure that our great club can continue to help others in the future.

The appeal has gone magnificently and a really big thank you to all those that have participated so far. Your generosity and friendship is immense - thank you.

Kevin tries Telepathy (and fails!) 17 Jan 2006

Kev tried calling Dave tonight on his way down to the club. Kev realised why he had not got through some time later when he realised that you have to turn the radio ON first. Now if that in itself is not funny...Dave reckoned he replied???!!!???

WIRELESS LINK Updated 11 Jan 2006

Kevin, David and Neil have started a feasibility study looking at providing wireless broadband into the club. Colin and Craig have also now boosted the team.
