About Us

We are a group of Amateur Radio enthusiasts who meet at the society's club rooms to both promote our hobby and educate members of the community in communications, specifically Radio Communications.

Thanks to assistance from Awards for All – England we have been able to train over 200 people of both sexes and all ages in various Amateur Radio courses. We are keen to promote the hobby amongst the young and contact from Youth organisations is more than welcome. We have a group of dedicated individuals who will also attend clubs and give talks/demonstrations etc. Please contact us by email or telephone for more details.

All aspects of the hobby are covered either as a club or through members individual pursuits. You will seldom be left with a question wanting an answer! The facilities are tremendous and the hospitality, genuine and warm. The only exception to this are those who would wish to do us harm. Be warned, the premises are well covered against intrusion. Our neighbours extremely co-operative and watchful, and the Police quick to react.

Visitors
Visitors are thoroughly welcome and are actively encouraged. We wish to spread the hobby and foster good relations. If you wish to visit, pop down and see us any Tuesday evening or Saturday during the day. You don't need to know anything about the hobby and we will willingly answer any questions. All ages, genders and abilities are very welcome.

Location
The club premises are situated just outside Sandtoft, after the village, and before the South Yorkshire Transport Museum. Access for the disabled is not a problem.

Club Night
The 'official' evening for Club members is a Tuesday. However, members do meet at other times, including during the day on Saturdays.

Membership
Membership to the Society is open to anyone and is conditional upon being accepted by the Officers of the Committee. An annual fee of £25 is payable by members.
